What the ChatGPT check shows

Mention rate. Out of the answers ChatGPT gave to unbranded questions, how many named you. This is the number that matters: buyers rarely type your name, they ask for options.

Position when named. Whether you come first or fifth in the list, shown only alongside how often you were named.

Who ChatGPT recommends instead. The competitors it names for the same questions, and how often.

Sources. The pages ChatGPT cited when it searched the web. These are the review sites, lists and articles worth getting onto.

How do I check if ChatGPT recommends my business?

Is this the ChatGPT app or the API?

The app. We collect what a logged-out member of the public sees in ChatGPT, from your market, using a specialist data provider. Developer API answers often differ from the app, so we never mix the two without labelling them.

Why does ChatGPT give different answers each time?

ChatGPT samples its wording, searches the web for some questions and changes its models over time. That's why one answer proves little. We ask several questions and show the count and a likely range, so you can tell a real gap from a coin flip.
