AI visibility platform RFP template
44 requirements for choosing an AI visibility (GEO or AEO) platform, in 6 weighted sections. Each has a question to ask every vendor, the evidence to request and a pilot plan. It is vendor-neutral, with no form and no email.
CSV opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers. Licensed CC BY 4.0.
How to use it
- Delete the requirements you don't need and change priorities to match your policy.
- Agree the section weights with marketing, SEO, security and procurement before you contact vendors.
- Send every vendor the same file and ask them to fill in the response column, with evidence.
- Run a short pilot with your own prompts, then score.
Scoring. Score each requirement 0 (not met), 1 (partly, or planned with a date), 2 (met) or 3 (met with strong evidence). A Must scored 0 disqualifies the vendor.

Pilot plan
- Write one prompt set: at least 50 questions across the intent types you care about, for your key products and markets.
- Give every shortlisted vendor the same prompts, engines, markets and competitors.
- Run for two to four weeks so each tool collects repeated answers.
- Compare each vendor's figures with their ranges. Two tools can disagree and both be within normal variation.
- Open ten answers in each tool and check the extraction by hand.
- Score each requirement 0 to 3 and apply the section weights agreed before the pilot started.

We wrote it to be fair to every vendor, including us, and no requirement names a vendor. Some requirements, such as SOC 2, are ones Glossy Data doesn't meet yet. Remove or reprioritize anything that doesn't match your policy.
The suggested weights put measurement quality first, because AI answers vary between runs and weak sampling makes every other feature less useful. Change the weights to match your priorities before the pilot starts, not after.
