Key takeaways
- There is no single best AI visibility tool. The right one depends on the engines, countries and team setup you need.
- Compare cost per answer, not headline price: prompts × engines × countries × runs per month, plus add-ons and seats.
- Ask every vendor how many answers sit behind each number. Single runs are unreliable because AI answers vary from one ask to the next.
- Glossy Data brings AI answers, competitor comparisons, cited sources and practical next steps together, with every available engine included on paid plans.
Which AI visibility tool is best?
The best AI visibility tool is the one that measures the engines and markets your buyers use, shows how certain each number is, and fits how your team works. Start with the work you want to do:
- See where AI recommends your business: compare your visibility across engines and markets in Glossy Data.
- Find useful content ideas: read the cited pages and questions where competitors appear.
- Give your team clear next steps: turn findings into briefs, then track the questions again after making changes.
- Report to clients: use eligible agency plans for branded reports and client workspaces.
- Compare your options: use the sourced tables below to check coverage, pricing and requirements.
How we evaluated these tools
We compared tools on what their own websites say, checked on 18 October 2026, against eight criteria that matter to buyers. We did not run a head-to-head accuracy test, and we did not use review-site scores, which we could not verify consistently.
- Engines included in the base price, and which cost extra.
- Countries and languages available on the entry plan.
- What the entry plan buys: prompts, check frequency and the resulting number of answers.
- Honesty of the numbers: whether sample sizes, ranges or variation are shown.
- Sources: whether you can see which sites engines cite.
- Actionability: whether the tool says what to fix and re-checks it.
- Team and agency fit: seats, client workspaces, white-label reports and API.
- Self-serve access: whether you can buy without a sales call.
One caveat applies to every tool, including ours: Google says no third-party tool has access to its internal ranking or AI systems.[16] Every vendor is observing answers from the outside, so the quality of the sampling matters more than the dashboard.

Try the free AI visibility checkerHow to compare AI visibility tool prices fairly
Convert every plan into answers per month. Headline prices hide very different volumes, because vendors meter by prompts, engines, countries, frequency or credits.
- Multiply it out. Prompts × engines × countries × runs per month = answers. Peec describes its agency credits this way: one prompt on one model for one day is one credit.[4]
- Add the add-ons you actually need. If Claude or Gemini matters to your buyers, price it in.
- Count seats and workspaces. Per-user or per-domain fees change the picture for agencies and larger teams.
- Check what a credit means. A Local Falcon credit is one map pin,[14] which is not comparable to a credit that buys one AI answer.
- Check annual terms, trial limits and whether unused credits expire.
Worked example using the listed entry plans: 15 prompts on 4 engines checked daily is about 1,800 answers a month; 50 prompts on 3 models checked daily is about 4,500. More answers usually means tighter estimates, but only if the tool pools them sensibly and shows you the uncertainty.
Checklist: questions to ask before you buy
Ask every vendor these questions, including us. Good tools answer them in their documentation without a sales call.
- How many answers sit behind each number, and do you show a range or margin of error?
- How do you tell a real change from normal variation between runs?
- Do you separate branded questions (that name us) from unbranded ones?
- Which engines are included, and are they measured from the consumer app or a developer API?
- Which countries and languages can I measure on my plan, and are questions written natively?
- Can I see the full answer text and the sources each engine cited?
- Do you suggest fixes, and do you re-measure after I make them?
- What does it cost for my real setup: my prompts, engines, markets, seats and clients?
- Can I export my prompts and history if I leave?
If you run an agency, also check client workspaces and reporting; our agency page explains how Glossy Data handles multiple clients today.
Frequently asked questions
It is software that repeatedly asks AI engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI features the questions your buyers ask, then reports how often your brand is mentioned, recommended or cited compared with competitors.
Yes. Vendors use GEO, AEO, LLMO and AI visibility interchangeably for tools that track brand mentions and citations in AI answers.
Glossy Data offers a free limited report after email verification. It shows partial questions and a short answer excerpt when available. Paid plans unlock full collected insights and allow further questions to be checked.
What matters is enough answers per topic to see a stable rate, not how often a single run happens. Weekly sampling across several wordings, pooled over a few weeks, is one way to get stable trends; daily checks mainly help you spot sudden changes sooner.
They ask different questions, in different markets, on different engine versions, with different sample sizes. Without sample sizes and ranges, two tools can disagree and both be within normal variation.
