We measure how often AI engines name each AI visibility and GEO vendor, Glossy Data included, when buyers ask questions that name no one. This page sets out the method, published before the first run. There are no results yet, so there is no ranking.

How we measure

Questions
12 buyer questions per language (listed below), none naming Glossy Data, the same for every vendor

ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Gemini
Markets
United States (English), United Kingdom (English) and Germany (German)
Cadence
One run every 10 days, 3 runs a month
Sample
About 144 answers per market a month (questions × engines × runs)
Metric
Mention rate: the share of answers that name the vendor, with its 95% interval and the number of answers behind it
Matching
Each vendor's name as the AI Recommendation Index extracts it, matched by one rule for every vendor
Order
By mention rate. Where two vendors' intervals overlap, the order between them isn't meaningful
Publication gate
The Index entry gate: at least 3 runs, 3 engines, 8 questions and 60 answers, sampled in the last 35 days

What we'll publish

  • Each vendor's mention rate, its 95% interval and the number of answers behind it, by engine and market.
  • The date window, the number of runs and the method version.
  • The full question list, as below.
  • The data as a CC BY 4.0 CSV.
  • Changes since the previous window, only where they are bigger than normal variation.

05 · Conflict of interest

We're in it, so here are the rules

  • Glossy Data publishes this index and is one of the vendors measured.
  • The questions were fixed and published before the first run. Changing one means a new method version, announced here.
  • We're measured with the same questions, engines and extraction as everyone else.
  • We publish our own result wherever it lands, including last.
  • No ratings or scores for other vendors: only what AI engines said, with the sample behind it.
